Retention Criteria
The recipient is eligible to stay in one program for two years providing they satisfy the following criteria.
- The semester GPA while in program must be higher than 2.5
- The recipient must demonstrate appropriate academic progress in the degree program.
- The recipient must have participated in the required minimum number (2 per semester) of the endorsed activities/workshops by the program.
- The recipient must be eligible for the need-based Federal financial aid. The eligibility will be verified each semester by the directors with the Financial Aid Office.
- The recipient must demonstrate their intention to obtain the intended BS-degree.
- The recipient must meet with their respective PSMS mentor at least once a month.
The Steering Committee may deny the retention of the student if these criteria are not met. The Steering Committee may decide toe replace the non-retained student with either a first- or second-year student. The substitute recipient must follow the same screening and selection criteria.
