PSMS-STARTERS
Required Activities
- Attend two endorsed workshops/events per semester. Keep a running record of the activities attended and return the activity form to your faculty advisor at the end of the semester.
- Attend the annual gathering.
- Meet with the Steering Committee for an annual interview.
Recommended Activities
Incoming Year(s)
- Attend all study group/peer-tutoring group sessions organized by the program.
- Get tutoring help for non-science classes from Learning Assistant Center (LAC).
Retained Year(s)
- Apply for the Scholars' program.
- Apply for on-campus research programs.
- Apply for internships of REU programs. You can talk to a faculty member in your department about these opportunities or visit the NSF-REU website for detailed descriptions on those opportunities.
- Get additional tutoring help if necessary.
PSMS-SCHOLARS
Required Activities
- Meet once a month with your departmental mentor.
- Attend two endorsed workshops/events per semester. Keep a running record of the activities attended and return the activity form to your faculty advisor at the end of the semester.
- Volunteer a minimum of 100 hours during the academic year for research/tutoring/mentoring.
- Attend the annual gathering.
- Meet with the Steering Committee for an annual interview.
