LBCF Ambassador Program

The LBCF Ambassador program is a non-exclusive group of persons who regularly attend our scheduled Sunday services, and have reviewed our vision and goals, and made the commitment to serve in one or more of the ministry opportunities on a scheduled basis.

As a church, we believe that God has endowed every one of us with giftings and expects us to use them, both, for the furtherance of our own spiritual life, and for the ministry to others.

OUR VISION

LBCF Members Serving/Ministering to one another with the love, compassion, concern and diligence of the Lord Jesus Christ

OUR GOAL

To encourage and facilitate the maximum number of LBCF members to participate on a regular basis in sharing their giftings and to provide for the needs of our scheduled services

Why would I, or should I, be a part of these ministries?

  1. First of all, because the Bible instructs and encourages all believers to be active in their faith.

In light of all this, (referring to what God has done for us and what our position is through His Son, Jesus Christ), here's what I want you to do. While I'm locked here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk - better yet, run! - on the road God called you to travel. I don't want anyone strolling off down some path that goes nowhere. And make sure that you do this with humility and discipline -- not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences. (Ephesians 4:1-3 ,The Message )

From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:16)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

  2. Secondly, because almost everyone who attends this fellowship has received some form of ministry and love from one or more persons who attend LBCF. What is freely received should also be freely given. We need each other.

Am I qualified to function in a satisfactory manner?

The bible is full of stories of how God chose and used so-called "unqualified" persons to carry out His plans for His people. In fact, it's difficult to find a case where He chose someone because they were well qualified! He used children, persons with low esteem and persons who were petrified at what He was asking them to do. He chose fishermen, tax collectors, prostitutes, and poor people--people from every walk of life. He even chose someone who was dedicated to the demise of God's chosen people.

Here's what the Apostle Paul said regarding his own life.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the work of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us. (Emphasis added.)

Be assured that the voice you hear suggesting your lack of qualifications to be an agent for the love and compassion of the Lord Jesus Christ is that of your enemy, Satan. His aim is to convince you that you are not who you really are. He shutters when you rebuke him, and remind him that you are God's creation, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. God didn't create you and redeem you to set you in the background until He comes again. He needs and wants you to represent His kingdom now !!

God isn't concerned with your capability but with your availability.

Who Am I?

In 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Paul identifies who we are and what we're to do as believers.

What Is an Ambassador?

Webster's definition:

  1. An official agent, with a special message.
  2. A special representative.
  3. One who is commissioned to represent a higher authority.

The root word in the Greek is presbyteros , meaning "elder or representative." It has become the title of honor for members of the body who care for the members and life of the church.

The emphasis is not on what your doing but on who you are and what you're being.

The LBCF Ambassador program has been established for two primary purposes:

  1. To provide opportunity for its members to share their giftings and their heart with others on a regular basis. Our motto is "God's people serving God's people ".
  2. To provide for the ministry needs of our Sunday morning services in an organized and quality way. A complete list of ministry opportunities is listed at the conclusion of this presentation.

How does the Ambassador program work?

A complete roster of Ambassador participants is maintained and expanded as necessary.

  1. This group has indicated the areas of service they feel led to participate in.
  2. A master schedule is made up monthly assigning the various persons to the date and activity they will be responsible for. This schedule is mailed monthly to each participant, together with weekly e-mail reminders for those scheduled for the following Sunday.
  3. The group is asked to look two to three months ahead and furnish the schedule coordinator with the dates they are unavailable for assignment.
  4. Later changes are made to the schedule to accommodate unexpected conflicts, but emphasis is placed on prioritizing personal schedules to align with schedule assignments.
  5. Each Ambassador is issued a "Welcome Name Badge" to be worn each time they serve. This facilitates both visitors and other members who are not familiar with all the people in the church.
  6. Each Ambassador is requested to share their experience with other non-ambassador members to encourage additional participation. Our goal is continue to increase the number of participants, both for the additional blessing they will receive, and to increase the roster, which allows more scheduling flexibility.

Your Commitment!!

You must ask yourself, is what I have in Christ and what I am experiencing in this fellowship worthy of my wholehearted commitment to these ministries? As we consider what commitment really is, let's look for a moment at our Lord Jesus, our ultimate example. He left heaven to show us how to live. The scripture tells us that Jesus did only what the Father told Him to do. He was committed to the plan of redemption that led Him to the cross. When we think of the people of God, such as Moses, Daniel, the Apostle Paul, Peter, and John, and many more, we find men totally committed to God. These were people just like us. They made their choice to put their Lord first in all things pertaining to their respective lives. Everything else was subordinated to this commitment. Are we called to do any less?

Based on who we are in Christ and what He has done for us, we, without reservation, are asking, and requiring anyone who desires to become a part of this program, to make a twelve month commitment to prayerfully, enthusiastically, and dependably serve.

If you are interested in serving please contact Harold Richardson and let him know which area(s) you are interested in.
