Firefighter robot contest February 2012

In the February meeting of 2012, our club held a firefighting robot competition. Here are the Trinity rules and here are the rules as defined by professor Mason.

A surprisingly large group showed up.

Professor Mason brought a bunch of his Mechatronics students, whom he instructed to build a firefighting robot in 2 weeks. Their ability to get the robot moving, and maybe even extinguish a randomly placed candle in any of the rooms, would significantly impact their ability to rack up some grades for this class. So they came well motivated.

Everyone was dearly impressed with the level of accomplishment this group brought to the game., Most students succeeded in finding the candle. Some of them even succeeded in deliberately extinguishing the candle. A non-trivial effort to say the least.

To top of the list, two brave RSSC old-timers participated as well. Alex dusted of his old Snuffy robot, with which he won the prestigous Trinity Firefighting contest.
