Ideal research assistant applicants should be dedicated individuals with good verbal communication and people skills. Successful volunteers tend to be detail-oriented and organized. Familiarity with statistics, programming, and/or Excel is a plus, but not necessary. Good writing skills and evidence of academic excellence are also important.
Experience with children and being bilingual (both written and oral) are also highly desired, as we work with children from different cultures in the local community.
Research assistants are required to commit to at least 10 hours per week (with at least two 3-hour blocks of time in the morning or in the afternoon) for the academic year or during the summer. Time availability is of the utmost importance given the constraints of conducting studies with children during typical school and childcare hours. Additionally, research assistants are required to attend weekly lab meetings.
If interested, please email Dr. Halim, and include your resume and a cover letter along with a completed
application.
