Along with being a teacher and researcher, Professor Halim is also a parent of two young children. In efforts to promote an appreciation of diversity
and instill a sense of self-worth in her children, she has tried to seek out books with different perspectives. Here are just a few books
both she and her children have enjoyed. Of course, this list is not exhaustive and always in progress, but can
hopefully be a resource to families and educators. We'd love to hear your suggestions as well!
