Laurie Huning Laurie Huning Extreme Events and Their Impacts Across Tribal Lands

The Huning Research Group through the Collaborative of Native Nations for Climate Transformation and Stewardship (CNNCTS) project seeks students interested in understanding the impacts of extreme events across tribal lands. CSULB CNNCTS is a unique collaboration among CSULB’s Colleges of Engineering, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Liberal Arts.

    Obtain valuable skills and mentored-training while investigating:
    Laurie Huning •  Extreme events and their impacts to tribal populations
    •  Recovery from and resilience to natural hazards
    •  Water quantity and water quality challenges
    •  Indigenous cultures, traditions, knowledge
    •  Environmental change

    And focusing on extreme events such as:
    •  Droughts, floods, heatwaves, and wildfires
    Available Opportunities
    •  Funded undergraduate student researcher positions
    •  Mentoring and engagement with faculty and collaborators
    Eligibility
    •  Possess and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
    •  Must be enrolled as CSULB student through Spring 2025 or later
