Climate-Ready Engineers for Water Resources Applications (CREW-RA) Program
Interested in water, climate, and engineering?
The Climate-Ready Engineers for Water Resources Applications
(CREW-RA) program welcomes applicants!
Based at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in partnership with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), CREW-RA is a Department of Energy funded-program that bridges engineering and science through hydrologic and water resources research and applications. Research applications involve CSULB and CASCADE (Calibrated and Systematic Characterization, Attribution, and Detection of Extremes) team members at LBNL.• Water resources variability and change
• Changing snowpack characteristics, rain-on-snow events, and atmospheric rivers
• Hydrologic/climate modeling and remote sensing
• Year-round mentoring and engagement with CSULB faculty and LBNL scientists
• Professional development workshops and research symposia
• Funded immersive summer experience at LBNL (travel, housing, stipend)
• Graduate students (continuing or new) and exceptional undergraduate students should have at least one full year before graduation
• Proof of enrollment as a CSULB student is required
• Students in pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field are preferred
