I am the Advisor for Information literacy and library instructional assessment at CSU Long Beach. I am responsible for facilitating campus-wide information literacy initiatives and developing strategies for assessing the impact of library instruction on student success. In my time with the CSU system I've been awarded four Information Competence Grants. My article "Librarians as Agents of Change: Working  with Curriculum Committees using Change Agency Theory” was selected as one of the TOP 20 Instructional Articles of 2008 by Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT). My varied research interests include information literacy in the workplace, using social media for library outreach, and mobile library site usability. I co-authored a book called Skinheads: A Guide to an American Subculture (Greenwood 2012) with Perry Hardy of the Templars.  I joined the Immersion Faculty in 2006 and retired in 2018. I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters of Library and Information Science from University of California, Los Angeles. I'm currently finishing up coursework to become a certified Program Manager.
