• 33 native CSS individuals censused, of 6 species
• Baccharis pilularis accounted for 14 of the 33 or 42%
• Artemisia californica accounted for 12,or 36%
• Together, these two species make up nearly 80% of the CSS vanguard out in the grassland
• In recovering CSS, 201 plants belong to 17 species, but 184, or 91.5%, belong to the 9 dominant species
• In the grassland just in front of the recovering boundary, 34 plants belong to 9 species, but 33, or 64.7%, belong to just 4 of the dominant species
• Isolated far out in the grassland, 33 vanguard plants belong to 6 species, but 27, or 81.8%, belong to just 3 of the dominant species
