Investment Principles
This course is going to introduce different types of investment instruments, such as mutual funds, common stocks, fixed income securities like bonds, derivative securities like options, warrants, futures, and convertible securities. At the beginning of each class meeting, I discuss "What is news" keeping students informed about updated economic news and corporations’ announcements. Especially, students are encouraged to participate in discussing current news in financial markets. This course provides the appropriate combination of theoretical knowledge with practical issues in the arena of investment.
FIN 400
Financial Management
This course provides an in-depth discussion of investment and portfolio management. Students are expected to learn about the investment alternatives that are available in the market. Most importantly, students are trained to recognize the future investment opportunities by developing a portfolio, which satisfies an individual risk-return objective. At the beginning of each class meeting, I discuss "What is news" keeping students informed about updated economic news and corporations’ announcements. Especially, students are encouraged to participate in discussing current news in financial markets. This course provides the appropriate combination of theoretical knowledge with practical issues in the arena of investment.
FIN 450
Security Analysis
It provides an in-depth analysis of the financial theory, empirical evidence as well as real world's examples. This course focuses the integration of theoretical analysis, case study and computer application. At the beginning of each class meeting, I discuss "What is news" keeping students informed about updated economic news and corporations’ announcements. Especially, students are encouraged to participate in discussing current news in financial markets. The course provides the appropriate combination of theoretical knowledge with practical issues in the arena of financial management.
