Remember if you select books in the library both the book's editor and a librarian have evaluated the book.

To evaluate books, look through the table of contents and read the introduction. Ask yourself the follow questions:


1.) Is there background information about the author?
2.) Is the author(s) an expert in the field?

1.) Why was the book/chapter written? To inform, persuade, entertain or present research?
2.) Is there more than one point of view?


1.) Who published the book? Is it a University Press?
2.) When was it published? Is it still current?
