Lets learn a little bit about databases. The are similar to search engines but instead of giving you web addresses, databases give you citations to journal, magazine and newspaper articles. Unlike search engines, articles in databases are selected and interpreted by people.

  1. Indexes and supplies you with citations for articles.
  2. May contain citations to newspaper articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, reports and other materials.
  3. Include an abstract or summary of the article to help you decide if the article is useful for your research.
  4. May include the full text of the article.
  5. Let you save, print or email the citations or the full text, if it is available.
