One year full-time lecturership in physical geography, with possibility of one-year extension, depending on performance review and budget

ABD in Geography or closely related field; specialization in physical geography; ability for effective teaching in lower level general education courses, including Introductory Physical Geography. Applicants must present evidence of teaching effectiveness in introductory and advanced physical geography and environmental management courses and ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
Effective college or university teaching experience preferred, especially in physical geography and environmental management; expertise in relevant sub-discipline courses; prior experience or familiarity with the CSU or comparable comprehensive urban university.
Final determination of teaching assignment is dependent on departmental needs and applicant's qualifications.
- teaching courses that address physical geography and environmental management (existing courses include Climatology, Land and Water Environments, and People as Agents of Environmental Change)
- teaching lower division General Education courses, including Introductory Physical Geography
- participating in service to Department, University, and community.
Commensurate with training and experience; probable range is between $41,940 and $44,964.
