Deadlines
20 February: first discussion of possible student group projects and "speed-dating" to pair up27 February: progress report on what teams are thinking of doing
6 March: one-two page proposal providing the purpose statement, probable data sources, probable methods
9 March: abstract submission deadline for the Southern California Academy of Sciences (meeting on 3 May), so groups presenting there should have a workable proposal to turn into an abstract by then
13 March: critiques of proposals, suggestions of useful resources for each of the other projects, refinement of idea in seminar
14 March through 27 March: data collection and processing, with progress reports and discussion on the 20th and 27th
1 April: abstract and registration deadline for the California Geographical Society (meeting on 4 May)
3 April: spring break, some folks off to AAG
10 April through 17 April: data collection and processing should be done by now and analysis well underway
17 April through 24 April: visualizations should be well underway
1 May: dry runs of project presentations or posters
3-4 May: presentations or posters at SCAS, LAGS, or CGS
7 May: submission of final report
