Responsibilities:
Inspections of erosion and sediment control measures at commercial, residential, industrial and highway construction projects in the Waldorf, MD and surrounding areas.
Field investigation, documentation and report writing.
Account management; daily interaction with clients and client subcontractors.
Reviewing and updating of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites.
Other tasks include scientist/engineer related work, as appropriate by applicant’s background and discipline, such as NPDES, CERCLA, RCRA, Environmental, Hydrological and Geotechnical related work.
Qualifications and Skills
B.S. or B.A. preferred. If you have the right field experience and can demonstrate that you have the desire and possess the intellectual capacity, then these degree requirements may be waived.
A successful applicant will have strong work ethic, a sound technical foundation and a desire for professional registration as soon as they are qualified.
Basic computer skills including competency with all Microsoft office programs

Junior Environmental Scientist, Roswell, GA

Responsibilities:
NV5 Engineers and Consultants, Inc, is seeking a full-time Junior Environmental Scientist for our Roswell, GA office. This position will provide assistance to project managers, engineers, and senior environmental scientists with general ecological field surveys, wetland and stream delineations, state and federal protected species surveys, environmental permit preparation (USACE 404 permits and GAEPD buffer variance applications), scientific data interpretation, technical report writing, and planning tasks for the Ecology Group. The most frequent and essential work activities include:
Responsible for task management.
Conduct ecology field investigations and data collection.
Provide technical report writing.
Complete project tasks within deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications: Prerequisites for employment include:
BS degree in biology, botany, ecology, wildlife or similar field
1-5 years of experience with natural resource related projects
Writing skills and ability to interpret and present field data in technical reports
Experience and positive relationships with regulatory agencies
Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge and familiarity with Trimble GPS unit, Microstation, and ArcGIS
Willingness to travel for consecutive days/nights
GDOT experience a plus

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. - Conducting research tasks (including telephone research with local, State, and federal agencies) as well as internet research;
- Coordination/management with the Lead Agency and Project Team;
- Preparing analyses for use in CEQA/NEPA documents;
- Drafting and proofing technical reports;
- Assisting with the production and distribution of documents;
- Assisting with the preparation of notices and with public meeting preparation;
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals and in conducting research for marketing; and
- Driving to file/post notices, conduct research, visit project sites, and/or deliver documents.
Qualifications
- Must have at least a bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Planning, Policy, Geography, Environmental Sciences, etc.) and 1+ years of professional experience in the CEQA field.
- Must be willing to work out of the Santa Clarita office location, although working from home is possible for the right fit;
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; and
