Grants: Since 1972, I have received $16,012,170.00 grant monies from internal university funds to conduct research and external grants from private health care agencies and foundations to institute innovative nursing programs and increase the number of culturally and linguistically (Spanish) competent nurses (Donors: Hoag Family Foundation and California Endowment), and triple the number of our basic BSN enrollments at CSULB. The donors for the latter have been Hoag Hospital inNewport Beach, California and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
