Dr. Emel Demircan
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Californa State University, Long Beach, where I run the Human Performance and Robotics Laboratory. I hold a joint appointement with the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
My research is centered on techniques for understanding how motor control dictates natual human movement, multi-body dynamics and control, musculoskeletal modeling, optimization and deep learning in biomechanics. The cross-disciplinary work is motivated by a range of applications, including rehabilitation and assistive robotics, cyber-physical systems, human augmentation, and sports biomechanics.
