WelcomeWelcome to Composition 100. By now you have found your way through various parts of this class web to this spot. You may have a few questions or may be confused by how this class will all work. Don't worry. Every week we will meet for class at a set appointed time just like a regular on campus class would meet. We will have discussions. You'll do some activities and some writing. We will work in groups. All in all class should run much the same way as if you were sitting in a traditional classroom. When you log on the first thing you should do is check the announcements page for any updates or bulletins. Next, you should check the week's lecture notes page for any instructions, mini lessons, or activities. Finally you should log on to the discussion thread so we can begin class. Simple, right? In general, class will be held for 1.25 hours twice a week. Some of this time may be spent emailing your papers, "chatting" -- writer's workshop, reading postings on our bulletin board. Any questions????? You should go to the Discussion page and log in. You are required to fill out a form first. You will be asked to type in a password. Please write this down so you will remember it. Do NOT use your name and do NOT share your password. Once you have completed the form you should be in the chat room. Type something to say hello. I'll see you in there! You will need to come back here and take the diagnostic exam.
