Welcome to my Personal Web site area! This page will tell you a little about me and what I like to do when I am not teaching composition. For starters, I am a recent graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Master's Degree in English/Literacy. I received my BA from CSULB in English - Creative Writing and took many of the same classes that you will, undoubtedly, take. Some of my favorite classes from my undergraduate days include: Forensic Science and Advanced Forensic Science, all of my English Classes (of course), Intercultural Communication (451/551), and Theory of Fiction and Film. If you are interested check out the link or ask me. I spent my entire undergraduate and graduate career working full-time for the Business Office as well as participating in other fun opportunities. I was a tutor in the Writers' Resource Lab and with the English Placement Test program. In addition, I taught the Writing Proficiency Test Preparation for 2 semesters and this class for 2 semesters. I also had the opportunity to volunteer for the Students Talk About Race (STAR) program for one semester. I highly recommend trying this! Stuff you just needed to know? I am pretty much a television junky and enjoy old films (particularly Film Noir). When I read, I like detective fiction ala Raymond Chandler or Medieval stuff. I also like sports and am a football fanatic. I have three cats that I am very allergic to. So, why would I have cats? Because I love animals. I drove across country ( Massachusetts to CA) with one cat (Aku Abu -- Kuu) who died in Amarillo, but I revived her. I picked up the other two (Zeke and Haussenfeffer) here. I am also a computer geek. I like making web pages, fixing hardware and software problems and doing desktop publishing. |
