What Robots Must Know About Humans for Successful
Interactions
Today even the most sophisticated robots used for human-robot interaction are very simple. Not only do they lack most of the perceptual and motor capacities of two-year olds, but they also lack many of the verbal and non-verbal skills, and most importantly, a good deal of basic knowledge about people and people's expectations, all of which are necessary for successful interactions with humans (especially adults). In this talk, I will sketch some of difficulties that intelligent robots face and illustrate them with examples from different robot tasks.
