Professional Life

I am a full professor at California State University, Long Beach.  My lab currently has four projects, three that focus on chloroplast function in Arabidopsis thaliana, a small mustard plant, and one that aims to genotype the stingray population at Seal Beach.

I teach General Genetics (370) and the first module of the Cell and Molecular Laboratory (340L) most Fall semesters and Molecular Plant Physiology (447/547) and the second half of the Introduction to Biological Sciences for Majors (211A) most Spring semesters.

I received my PhD from the University of Chicago in Genetics, and then I did postdoctoral research with Dr. Elaine Tobin at UCLA before coming to CSULB in January of 1995.  I welcome you to browse my web page to learn more!
